Christmas pics!

I'll post more later! I didn't really get a lot of gifts, mostly money. People know i'm picky, haha!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

So i've been busting my ass all week cleaning the house for tomorrow (Xmas Eve) when we're having all of my family and all of May-son-ies family over. I've been going through boxes of stuff and putting a bunch of crap we don't need on CraigsList in the "free" section. Mason would probably kill me if he knew I was giving away stuff he paid for. But it's just JUNK! He goes out to flea markets and yardsales and buys JUNK! And then puts it in our spare room where it sits for months. This shit needs to GO NOW!!! Ugh.

Tomorrow i'll probably still be cleaning up until the last minute and people are arriving. I'll be cooking too. I'm cooking a ham, side dishes and baking a red velvet cake (my favorite, screw everyone else lol). I was up till 2am last night cleaning. I got up at 8am this morning, fed Kota, and got right back to cleaning.

Speaking of CraigsList, people on there are picky as fuck. They want everything for free, and they want it in brand new, still has the tags, great condition.
Ya know what, I was feeling extra generous. I made two gift bags for babies. In the bags were: about 10 jars of babyfood (fruits, veggies, meats EVERYTHING! not expired either!), toys, shampoo, lotion, etc... I put them in two NICE diaper bags that I don't use. I posted an ad for them on CL. A very detailed ad. NOT A SINGLE FREAKIN PERSON WANTED THEM. I'm giving away good, nice, clean, practicly brand new toys that Kota doesn't use, and FOOD, and not a single person was interested! I'm shocked! I figured someone would atleast respond and take the stuff and try to re-sell it, but nope. Not a word from anyone!

Then I put an ad for 3 free prom dresses. Davids Bridal brand for craps-sake! Size 2, 4 and 11 ( a little somethin for everyone lol).
Again, no one responds. FREE DRESSES!! Expensive ass dresses, FREE!!! Barely worn! No stains, no tears. PERFECT. FREE. DRESSES.

My niceness gets me no where.

I just really want this stuff out of my house. I'm trying to be nice and give it away for free, but no one wants to take it. I don't want to throw it away. I guess if it's not gone by next week, then i'll donate it to Salvation Army or something.

Oh blog, how i've neglected you!

I've been so tired lately. My little beefcake is teething and its getting bad. He stays up till midnight or later sometimes, then wakes up at 8am. I still feel dead tired now matter how much sleep I get. He's just a real crabby patty. I feel bad for the little guy, but i'm so freakin tired. He's not happy in his swing, or his bed, or his bouncy seat, or on his tummy time mat. He's happy when I hold him, for like, 5 minutes, then he's crabby again.
That damn baby orajel REALLY pisses him off! He likes teething rings, but only when their cold. Once its back to room temp he's crabby again. So we bought about 6 of the stupid things, so we always have one cold and ready.
Ugh, I just want to be able to go to sleep at 9pm and wake up at 7 or 8 like usual. I wish those little white toothy demons would poke through, maybe then he wouldn't be such a crabass. *sigh*

Oh, and Kota scarred the shit out of me this afternoon! I was in the bathroom straightening my hair, I had him sitting in his bouncy seat in the door way. He had a pacifier and a toy, and he was happy just sitting there playing. All of a sudden he started screaming. I look down, and he's turned the paci around and has gotten the 'button' part of it stuck in his mouth. He somehow wedged it in, and it wouldn't come back out! His mouth was stuck open and his little arms were flailing and he was screaming and crying. I picked him up and attempted to pull the stupid paci out, but it was stuck in there good, it was behind his gums. He couldn't open his mouth wide enough for me to pull it out. So I squeezed his chubby cheeks to try and get his mouth to open wider, and yanked it out. He cried for a few seconds and then was fine.
This was the first time he's done that with this kind of paci (its a differant one than I usually give him).
That bastard paci is now in the garbage.
I cuddled him and kissed him for a little while and then sat him back in his seat. He started playing again like nothing ever happened. :-/

Last weekend we went to the Wire Grass outdoor mall and saw the Christmas tree light show. It was freakin' sweet. :)

Huge trees!

Half a year old!

I made a little slideshow to "celebrate" Kota being 6 months old yesterday (Tuesday). And yes, I know I spelled 'month' wrong at the end, but thats okay. And turn your speakers on, there is music too! I had a dream, while I was pregnant, and it was like a home movie looking dream. Of me holding a baby (couldn't see his face) and of our little family. And this song was playing in my dream. So I thought it would only be fitting to use it now! :) Enjoy!

All I want for Christmas...

Kota had his 6 month checkup today. My suspicions were confirmed: he has two teeth coming in the (bottom) front. Poor teething baby! He's had trouble sleeping and has just been an all around crabby patty. :-/ His pedi said they'd probably break through before Christmas! Someone, please, stop this child from growing up. :( I don't want him to get teefers. I love his toothless smile! And he just wont seem like a baby any more!!! :( "Little kids" have teeth, not "babies". NOT BABIES!!!! waaaaaaaahhhh!!! :(
Anyway.
He got his vaccines again. Two shots and the oral vaccine stuff. Then I decided to get him his flu shot. He didn't even cry at first. He got the first two shots and just kind of got this confused look on his face. Then he got the third one and his face scrunched up and he opened his mouth. Before he could let out a cry I threw the pacifier in there lol! I picked him up and he was okay within a few seconds. My little trooper. ♥
Today I went on a walk with the baby. He had his Pooh Bear in the stroller with him and he was "talking" to him the whole way! I decided to give jogging a try. I learned that mommy doesn't jog. Back in high school I ran on the track a lot (for fun, not on the team). That was back when I had more of an "athletic" figure to me. Now I have a "mommy" figure, and this mommy doesn't jog. I'd like to do this walking thing every day to get back in shape, but the Florida weather has been really shitty lately. Rainy all the time, and cold as hell (wait, that doesn't even make sense lol).
We got the tile finished in the kitchen. I'll post pics tomorrow or something. It's still a mess in there.

Thankful to be a mommy!

Why i'm thankful to be a Mommy...

♥ I can work at home! Yeah, the pay kind of sucks. But the benefits are totally worth it!

♥ Feeling the love for your baby is like no other feeling in the world! It's a natural high!

♥ I get to see his smiling face every morning! I love walking into his room and seeing his big goofy grin staring up at me. I'm as happy to see him as he is to see me. :-D

♥ He makes me a better person. That sounds cheesy, I know, but it's true. I don't think i'd be where i'm at now if he weren't here!!

♥ He makes every day worth living. He's the reason I get up every morning. Every day is a new adventure to him, and it's a good reminder to look at life the same way!

♥ He's teaching me how to be a kid again. I get to be silly and make up silly songs and sing and dance. All to make him smile and laugh!

For all you other mommies, why are YOU thankful to be a mommy? :)

Lots of pics!!

Man, did we have a busy weekend!! Thanksgiving was busy, and it was all down hill from there! We avoided going out on black Friday though. Except to Chic-Fil-A. The one down the road from us has these amazing Christmas Lights every year. So me, Mason, baby and my parents took the little guy to go see some awesome lights!

We went in and I got one of the holiday milkshakes: peppermint and chocolate chip! It was soooooo good!!! :-D One of the employees was giving all of the little kids balloons and he asked if we wanted one for baby. Mason was like "Nah, what the heck is he going to do with a balloon?" but I said "Hellz yes we'll take one!!". So Kota got his first balloon! :) He kept staring at it bob around. I tied it to his little wrist.

Saturday we drove out to Spring Hill again to spend the weekend. We helped Mason's aunts put up their holiday decorations and lights. They cooked us some delicious Italian sausage (omg soooo good!!!).
When we got home Sunday, Mason put up some lights outside and and put up the Christmas tree. I got to give him the surprise ornimate, yay! It's next to one of our other custom ornamates we had made a few years ago. :)

And over the weekend we made a very special discovery! Kota is getting a tooth!!! Which would explain his crabbyness and extream dooling! Awww! I'm going to miss his toothless smile!

New pants!

I went to Ross and got two pairs of pants the other day. Both Levi's. I've never owned Levi's. I love them, I should of been buying this brand years ago!! I'm happy that I now have pants that actually fit, instead of my pre-pregnancy pants! w00t!

We get to have two Thanksgivings on Thursday! We're going out with my family to celebrate, then we're heading to Spring Hill to go to Mason's aunts house. We always have fun up there. :) The only problem is we may have to drive his mom and grandma back to Tampa with us, which I really, REALLY don't want to do. We would just spend the weekend up there, but we're tiling the kitchen counter and putting insulation in the attic. We've already done half of the counter, and it looks fabulous! It's beautiful black tile! I'll post pics when it's done!!

OMG soon Kota will be 6 months old. SIX FREAKIN MONTHS OLD!! That's halfway to a year!! I can't believe it's been that long already!

From itty-bitty:

He's growing up so fast!!! My precious little man ♥ ♥ ♥

Not of age?

I was heading to Dairy Queen last night when hubby called me and asked me to pick him up some ciggies while I was out. I was driving right past Wallyworld, so I decided to just pull in there and get them. I wait in their infamous long as hell line. Go up to the counter, ask for a pack of Newports. She asks for my ID, I give her my ID. She types in my birth date. Then tells me i've been declined.
What?
I tell her I'm almost 24 years old, how am I declined? So she puts in my birth date again. Again it says i'm declined. Apparently i'm not of age. I tell her to put it in AGAIN. It's 1/3/86. Damnit do you want ME to do it?! She said she can't do it any more and she cannot sell me the Newports.

BITCH!

Ugh. So I go around the corner to a liquor store. I got the Newports there. EIGHT FUCKING DOLLARS! Sweet Jesus Pants. I tell the cashier dude there about my Wallyworld dilemma and he just laughs and asks to see my ID. No problems there. I don't know what the idiot at Walmart was doing, I don't think she even knew what she was doing. I thought maybe they raised the age limit of buying cigs to like, 30 or something.
Stupid Walmart bitch. Makin me look like an asshat. Everyone in the line behind me was giving me the death stare. They probably thought I had a fake ID or something! Ugh.

IN OTHER NEWS!!
The finalist for Baby Idol will be announced later today! Everyone keep your fingers crossed that Kota is one of them!!!!! :-D

Fuzzy mothman and turkey baby

Sunday morning hubby was outside smoking and come running in and told me to come outside and "see this awesome moth!". When I think of moths, the word "awesome" isn't usually associated with it... But when I saw it, I had to admit, it was a pretty awesome moth. It was big. And hairy...

I'm sure it's harmless. Besides eating your clothes. But you know if that thing would of flown at me I probably would of shit my pants and ran. :-/
I made Kota's Thanksgiving babylegs today. They are so cute! They match his Thanksgiving onesie perfectly! Good job, Mommy! :-D So I decided to work on his 1st Thanksgiving pics too. He didn't want to cooperate, he just wanted to play with the pumpkin and drool everywhere.

Silly baby, lol! :) ♥ I'll probably get some better pics this weekend. I want to make Thanksgiving cards for his grandparents. I was looking at some fall leaves decorations at Walmart, thinking it'd be cute to have him sitting in the leaves for his pictures. Then I looked at the price tag. $7.99. Eight friggin' dollars for a strand of fake leaves!!! I don't think so, scooter!!! I'll gather some up from outside and rinse them off and use those, it's cheaper. :-P

Vote for Kota!

I entered Kota in our local radio stations "Baby Idol" contest! The winning baby gets a $3,000 savings bond and mommy and daddy (and bebe) get a two night hotel stay at the beach! You know my little man is a kuh-yoo-tee, so go vote!!

** He's Dakota #1, obviously. And you'll have to enter your email address to vote, then check your email, and click the link it sends you to confirm your vote and make sure it's not a spam-bot who's voting. You won't get any spam, I pwomise! :) **

Ah moving we shall go!

So we've settled on two apartment complexs. One is the townhouse and another is a 3 bedroom apartment. We also found a house we're going to go look at tonight at 6pm. They're asking $950 on rent, but, they're willing to go to $750 "if they like us and thing we'll be good renters". *rolling eyes* $750 would be great for a house! I hope they like us. I mean, what's not to like? We're a quiet little family. Most of the time....
So since we are for sure moving, i'm having a moving sale this weekend to get rid of a lot of junk we have. Plus Kota's grandma is getting him a walker for Christmas. Just what we need. A baby flying around the house knocking crap over, lol! So i'm selling a lot of the breakable knick-knacks we have.
I think Kota needs a hair cut. Poor baby's hair is starting to get really long, and it hangs down in his eyes.

That's after a bath. I "spiked" his hair, haha!

Weekend updates!

Saturday
Something amazing happened! Kota sat up on his own!!! :-D I had him propped up with pillows on the bed and I was getting ready to go to the mall, and he kept trying to sit up (he's been doing this for a few weeks now). He stiffens his arms and balls up his little fists and strains to sit up. This time HE DID IT!!! He sat up!!! He was a little wobbly and eventually fell over, but omg, he sat up!!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Of course, right before I took the pic he started to fall forward, so I have my hand ready to catch him. LOL!
I'm so proud of my little guy *tear* he's becoming a big boy!!
Sunday
Another big event! Kota turned 5 months old! YAY!!!

We also went to look at a few townhouses and apartments this weekend. We saw one that was HUGE and I loved it. Of course, Mason hated it. He said we couldn't fit our couch in the front door, so it was out of the question. He said we'd go look at these townhomes his grandma used to live in because they were really nice and cheap. So while he was at work today, my mom and I went to go look. I'm not impressed. There's no gym, no washer/dryer hookup so you have to use their laundry room ($1.50 a load) and it just doesn't seem that big to me. Plus they have closed in porches, but your porch is connected to someone elses, only divided by a screen. That would be kind of awkward. Mason smokes, so what if he goes onto the porch to smoke, and the person next door doesn't? That could mean problems. The townhouse itsself isn't horrible. It's bigger than our house now, but I don't know, it just kind of feels weird to me. We'll see I guess. At least there is a pool and playground there! I guess I could go jogging around instead of using a gym. Or I could just sneak and get a gym membership somewhere else! ;)

What's really good though, is that the townhouse we'd get is one on the end of the building. So there would only be other people on one side of us. Which is what we wanted! :-D

Pros and Cons of apartments...

I'm starting to like the idea of apartment living. I made a list of the pros and cons.

Pro's
  • No lawn to mow
  • Something breaks, call maintenance!
  • Pool and playground you never have to clean or take care of!
  • Bigger than our house now
  • Cheaper
  • Close to both of our families
  • Close to Popeyes Chicken (or is that a con? I love their food, but it's so fatty!!)
  • GYM!!!!!! ELLIPTICAL!!!! SWEET JESUS PANTS I LOVE THE ELLIPTICAL!!
Cons
  • Maybe maintenance sucks?
  • People living on the other side of the wall
  • Stairs = EVIL!
  • Popeyes Chicken.
  • It's close to hubby's parents (good for him, I could live without lol)
  • Far away from Kota's pedi.
So, yeah. The biggest pros for me are the gym, pool, it's cheaper and bigger. I guess I can deal with people living on the other side of the wall as long as they aren't douches. I'm making a list of questions to ask the leasing office when we go tonight. The list includes:
  • If someone is noisy, what do we do? If it's 3am do we call the police? Do we report it to the leasing office?
  • If we have a big problem with the people living next door, what do we do? Would we be able to change apartments?

  • How much is it to break the lease if we decide to move?

I really just want to get in the pool and go work out. But we wont be able to move in until December 1st, and it'll probably be cold then and Kota wont want to get in (neither will I). But the playground has baby swings!! How awesome!! Kota's never been on a swing (at least not an outdoor playground swing!). Maybe I'll sneak over there after we look at the townhome and i'll put him on it to see if he likes it, haha!

The lunch of champions: Beech-Nut oatmeal and apples, and Similac Advance!

(Look at that boys face! He's droolin'! Like "Gimmie gimmie gimmie! Yum! Yum!!" lol!)

Amy's Thoughts On...

Amy's Thoughts On...
Pregnancy, Birth and all that BS.

Be prepared for absolute honesty!
(And feel free to comment with some of your own!)

Pre-Pregnancy

"You don't get morning sickness the first month or two you're pregnant" - random baby books everywhere.
I call shananagans! About a week before I got my first positive test I kept getting nauseous. A couple times I puked. That's what made me want to take a pregnancy test in the first place. That and "mommy intuition" (more on that later). I read a lot of pregnancy books that said you don't get morning sickness till about the second or third month. That's a load of crap. My son wanted to make himself known as soon as the seed was planted!

"Getting pregnant is easy. Just don't use protection!"
Again, BOLOGNA! (Why is bologna pronounced ball-o-knee anyway? Gah. Moving on before I get way off topic!) My hubby and I stopped using protection a month after we started dating. Call us dumb, immature, stupid, wtf ever. That's not the point. The point is, two and a half years later, there was no baby. And we were fine with that. We got married, got an apartment together and started talking about "trying" to have a baby (charting cycles, eating better, doing the deed more often, etc...). We decided to "wait" on doing those things till after we got a house. Two weeks later I got a + test. Guess little Kota was just hanging out in there and said "They're talking of having a baby? Time to implant! GO! GO! GO!"

Pregnancy

"You'll walk like a penguin"
True. I always said it wouldn't happen to me. But yes, I was doing the penguin for about two months before Kota was born.

"Sex sucks"
True. Gah, I felt so gross. I was huge. No position was comfortable. Weird things were going on down south. Sex was definitely out of the question for about the last 3 months of pregnancy.

"Do I have gas or was that the baby?"
The first time I felt Kota move, well, I wasn't sure if it was him or I was about to let lose a massive fart. But then he moved some more and I realized that was no fart bubbling, it was my little boy. :)
But on the subject of farting while pregnant, it gets bad. Real bad. Really, really REALLY BAD! At least for me it did. One time I ran to the bathroom to let lose and Mason was in the livingroom. He heard me fart from about 20 feet away, through closed doors, and said "Sweet Jesus woman, was that what I think it was?!" I came out and said "Just be happy I didn't stay in the room with you!".

Maternity clothes aren't awesome.
When I first found out I was pregnant I couldn't wait to get that big ol' baby belly and wear cute maternity clothes. The truth is, they're not cute. Well, they are when you first buy them. But you come to find out how expensive they are. $20 for a plain white shirt to cover your beach ball sized belly isn't cool. I found a lot of good deals at TJ Maxx and Ross. Again, the clothes were cute for maybe a month or two. But after 5 months of wearing jeans with an elastic waist band that keeps rolling down off your tummy, you want buttons and zippers back. I don't care what size maternity jeans I bought, that goddamned elastic waist band ALWAYS rolled down off my big belly and I was constantly having to pull up my pants. They should make maternity belts!

Wear a bikini!
I don't care how big you get. I don't care if you're month pregnant or eight. Wear that damned bikini (of course if weather permits, and you're at the beach. Going to Publix in a bikini wouldn't be a good idea. But who am I to judge.) This is the only time you can get fat and have an excuse. Even if you're already on the chubby side and you're only one month pregnant and you hate the way you look in a bathing suit. Now's your chance! If anyone says something, just say "I'm pregnant, back off bitch!" because you'll be grouchy anyway. :-D

Bitch, bitch, bitch!
I don't think I was a mean pregnant lady. At least, ya know, i've seen worse. I could have been worse. My hubby will tell you differently though. He'll tell you I was a terror when I was pregnant. Maybe I was, I don't know. I couldn't see my feet, I waddled, I pee'd every 5 minutes, my back hurt, my boobs were huge and leaking, and I kept having my ass kicked from the inside. I think men would be 10x bitchier if they were pregnant! Anyone would be bitchy in that situation!!

Labor & delivery/Birth/Being at the hospital

A c-section birth is still a birth!
A lot of people ask me if I regret or if i'm mad that I didn't get to have a vaginal birth. Regret? Mad? Nah. It would of been a great experience, but we had to do what was best for myself and my baby. I don't feel like any less of a woman or a mother because I didn't push my baby out. Nobody should feel like like of a mom/woman for not having a vaginal birth! A c-section birth is still a birth! I still felt like super woman after having him! I carried him for 9 months, gave him life, gave up sex, gave up CHOCOLATE! I'm not about to let anyone tell me that a c-section is any less of a birth! It didn't make me love him any less. I still cried when I saw him. It still took my breath away when I heard his first cries. I still got to hold him as soon as he was out!

"I'm going to have a smiley face where?!"
After they told me I was going to need a c-section, the doc was explaining how and what would go down during surgery. After they wheeled me into the OR and started to get me prepped, it was then he noticed I have two star tattoo's on my lower stomach. He said the incision will be below the bikini line, and with the two tattoo's, it'll look like a smiley face. My Dr was a nerd, haha!

Epidurals are amazing! And uncomfortable!
I was in labor for 10 hours. I was 3cm dilated, 80% effaced and nothing was changing (it had been that way for about 3 weeks). I had been induced (because of diabetes and blood pressure, but thats another story). After about 5 hours the contractions were getting stronger and closer together. I was miserable. So I told the nice nurse lady that I wanted an epi. Now. No, I don't want to try waiting a bit longer. Now. Now. NOW! So the epi guys (not sure what their actual title is) rolled in their gear. I had to sit up and lean over as far as I could. With my big belly, it was hard to do and *very* uncomfy! I'd heard a lot of horror stories about epidurals hurting really bad, and some 'epi tech guys' don't get it in right the first time and they have to keep trying over and over. Fuck that. I say if they don't get it right after two tries, ask for someone else to do it! I got lucky. They got it in no problem, first try! It didn't hurt either! Maybe it's just because I have a lot of tattoo's and i'm used to that kind of pain... All I felt was a pinch in my back, this weird tapping sensation on my spine (omg weirdest feeling EVAR!) and that was it. After that I was in heaven! :) It was a weird feeling though; being able to sort of feel your legs, but not really move them...

After surgery adventures!
I had to stay in the hospital a week after the c-section. For the first two nights Kota wasn't allowed to stay in the room with me after 7pm. They said it was because I needed to relax and rest after the surgery and I shouldn't be trying to get up constantly to tend to baby. How heartbreaking is that? Even during the day when he was in the room with me, I was told that Mason should bring the baby to me or call a nurse to help me out of bed to get the baby. I guess the nurses forgot that I felt like Super Woman. Silly nurses! I wouldn't let anyone help me up. The nurses took forever to get into the room to get me up and to baby. Hubby was still nervous about holding the fragile little darling and scared to try and pull me out of bed. So it was up to me, Super Woman, to get to that baby! Mason would freak out and go get the nurse to help me up, but by the time they got back I was already up! I can do it myself, i'm not waiting around for anyone's assistance! Did it hurt? Yes, definitely! But no amount of pain would stop me from getting to my hungry baby! I never realized how many activities involve your lower stomach muscles. After the c-section, it takes a while for the muscle to repair itself. Sitting up, coughing, peeing, rolling over, farting, laughing all hurt like hell!

Can I shower now?!
I wasn't able to shower for about 4 days post-surgery. I felt so gross. Once I did get to shower I think I was in there for over an hour, haha!

Where did my belly go?!
I always heard that after you have a baby that you'll still look pregnant for a while. That the belly doesn't go away right away. Well, once Kota was out, the belly was gone!

Post-pregnancy

Maternity clothes are awesome!
I know that contradicts what I said earlier. But it's true! Maternity pants rock once you're not pregnant any more! Especially if you've had a c-section! The elastic waist band no longer rolls down. And they're just so damn comfy!!! I actually still have a pair of khaki capri's that I wear. They're too cute and comfy to get rid of!

And of course, what would this post be without pics?!

Me and the monster belly!

Rockin' that bikini!!

Don't babies look like zombies before they're cleaned up?

Then - He was only about 3 or 4 days old! Such a cutie pie!!! ♥♥♥
Now - Still a cutie, of course! ♥ That was taken about a week ago.

Update of the weekend!

Friday night we went to a carshow at Dairy Queen. They had a couple cars decorated for Halloween. There was a black VW Beetle that they put huge spider legs on. It was so cute! Kota wore his cute Halloween onesie. :)

We had lots of trick or treaters! I made 30 treat bags and they were all gone in about 10 minutes! We actually had to break out our own stash of candy we were keeping for ourselves! Around 10, after all the kids were gone, we went to Taco Bell and got the free Black Jack Taco. It was so good!

Saturday morning we went to look at another house. Except this one was for sale. It's valued at $100,000. But it's in foreclosure, so it's being sold for $50,000. So tomorrow, Monday, we're meeting with the relator and the bank to see if we can get approved for a loan for the house. We LOVE this house. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1200 sq ft, HUGE back yard! Pool! Love, love, LOVE this house! Hopefully we'll get approved for the loan. If not, Mason said he could take the money out of his 401K for a down payment.

I took pics while we were there....
